1. HOTEL PICK-UP & DEPARTURE FROM SAN JUAN
Your adventure begins with convenient pick-up from selected hotels and designated locations in San Juan. Simply choose your preferred pick-up location when booking your tour.
Sit back and relax as we make our way to the Ceiba Ferry Terminal, approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from San Juan.

2. FERRY RIDE TO VIEQUES
Upon arrival at the Ceiba Ferry Terminal, our team will assist with the ferry check-in process before boarding for Vieques.
Enjoy the scenic journey across the water to the island. Ferry travel time is approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on sea and weather conditions.

3. BEACH TIME IN VIEQUES
Welcome to Vieques! Your island experience begins with time to relax at Sun Bay Beach or Esperanza Beach, depending on the day's itinerary, conditions, and timing.
Unwind by the Caribbean Sea, enjoy the tropical surroundings, and take in the beauty of Vieques before continuing your evening adventure.
Approximately 1.5 hours of beach time is planned.
4. EXPLORE EL MALECÓN IN ESPERANZA
Next, we'll head to the waterfront community of Esperanza, where you'll have free time to explore El Malecón.
Take a stroll along the waterfront and choose from a variety of local restaurants for dinner before the Bio Bay experience.
Dinner is not included, allowing you to choose the restaurant and meal you prefer.
5. GUIDED BIO BAY CLEAR-BOTTOM KAYAK TOUR
As night falls, get ready for the highlight of your Vieques adventure — Mosquito Bay.
Board a tandem clear-bottom kayak and follow your guide into the bay as the water begins to glow around you. Paddle through the dark, mangrove-lined waters and witness the incredible natural bioluminescence created by millions of microscopic organisms.
Watch the water sparkle beneath your kayak and illuminate with every movement of your paddle — an unforgettable natural phenomenon and one of Vieques' most extraordinary experiences.
6. FERRY RIDE BACK TO CEIBA
After your Bio Bay adventure, we'll transfer you back to the Vieques Ferry Terminal for the return journey to Ceiba.

7. RETURN TRANSFER TO SAN JUAN
Upon arrival in Ceiba, your transportation will be waiting for the final journey back to San Juan.
The drive is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, with an estimated arrival in San Juan around 11:40 PM, depending on ferry operations, traffic, and drop-off locations.
ARRIVE ON TIME
Ferry check-in times are mandatory. Please arrive at your designated pick-up or meeting location on time.
Late arrival may result in missing the ferry to Vieques. If the ferry is missed due to a guest's late arrival, we may be unable to provide the scheduled tour, and the reservation may be considered a no-show.

Transportation between Ceiba and Vieques is aboard the public passenger ferry. I VENTURES does not operate private maritime transportation to Vieques and does not sell ferry tickets separately. Your ferry tickets are arranged and included as part of your Vieques tour package.
The ferry service is operated independently by Puerto Rico's maritime transportation system. I VENTURES does not control ferry schedules, delays, cancellations, vessel changes, or other ferry operations.
Ferry departure and return times displayed in the tour itinerary are the planned schedule for your experience and are subject to change based on ferry operations and ticket availability.
If a ferry schedule change significantly affects your experience, our team will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and provide the available options, which may include an adjusted itinerary, rescheduling to another available date or excursion, or a full refund if the change prevents us from operating the advertised tour.

How many guests are assigned to each kayak?
Our Bio Bay tour operates with two guests per tandem kayak, with a maximum combined weight of 380 lbs per kayak. Individual kayaks are not available by request. They are assigned only when necessary due to weight or height restrictions and are determined by our operations team. Any individual kayak arrangement must be approved in advance of your booking.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. Guests must be 4 years or older to participate.
Are there any health restrictions?
The Bio Bay kayak experience is not recommended for guests who are 6 months or more pregnant, or individuals with epilepsy, certain heart conditions, severe dizziness, or recent surgery.
What should I bring?
Bring a small backpack, swimwear, towel, water shoes, sun protection, dry clothes, personal medications, and cash or a credit card for dinner, souvenirs, and gratuities.
Can I bring a backpack or luggage?
Small backpacks and personal bags are allowed. Suitcases and large luggage are not permitted. We recommend traveling light.
Are there restrooms at the beach?
No. There are no restrooms at our beach stops. Restrooms are available at restaurants in Esperanza and at the Bio Bay kayak check-in location.
Is there storage for my belongings during the kayak tour?
Yes. Storage is available at the kayak check-in location for your belongings while you are kayaking. We recommend not bringing valuables.
Is dinner included?
No. You will have time at El Malecón in Esperanza to purchase dinner and explore before the Bio Bay tour.
Will we visit Sun Bay Beach?
The beach stop will be at Sun Bay or Esperanza Beach, depending on weather conditions and the timing of the day's itinerary.
Is the bioluminescence always the same?
No. Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon, and its brightness and visibility can vary depending on natural conditions.
What happens if it rains?
Rain alone does not cancel the tour. Tours operate unless weather or other conditions are determined to be unsafe.
Do not assume your tour is canceled. We will contact you if there are any changes.
Does the Bio Bay tour operate during the full moon?
No. Bio Bay tours do not operate the day before, the day of, or the day after the full moon in accordance with applicable operating restrictions.
When will I receive my tour contact information?
Your tour guide's contact information and final meeting instructions will be sent one day before your tour.
